Launching Anti-Theft functions using SMS commands

You can launch Anti-Theft functions on your device using SMS commands if a SIM card is inserted in your device.

If SIM Watch is enabled on the lost device, you will get the new phone number when your SIM card is replaced on the device. The number will be sent to your additional phone number or to the email address specified in Anti-Theft settings. Use the new phone number of launch other Anti-Theft functions on your device.

To launch Anti-Theft functions using an SMS command from a different device, perform one of the following operations:

  • Create a command on another device and send it to your device from Kaspersky Internet Security using the SMS command transmission function (if the app is installed on another device).

    When creating an SMS command, use the secret code to Kaspersky Internet Security on your device.

  • Send a text message to your device with the following special text:
    • alarm: <code>—To turn on the alarm and lock the device (where <code> is the secret code to Kaspersky Internet Security on your device)
    • find: <code>—To lock and locate the device
    • wipe: <code>—To delete personal data and memory card data
    • fullreset: <code>—To delete all data from the device and reset the device to its factory settings

    After all data has been removed and the device has been reset to factory settings, it will no longer be able to receive and carry out remote commands.

Outgoing SMS commands are billed according to the data plan of the network provider for the other mobile device.
